Disabilities Ministries Annual Summer Camp for Youth and Adults With Intellectual Disabilities Camp Kirchenwald, Lebanon County   Who:  Adults (ages 15 and up) with a primary diagnosis of mild to moderate mental retardation who enjoy group activities and have no severe behavioral problems. The camp is open to youth and adults of all faiths.  Program:  Activities at the camp are all adapted to the needs and abilities of youth and adults with mental retardation. These activities include: swimming, canoeing, hiking and nature study, sports, games, arts and crafts and fishing. In addition, campers will participate in singalongs, morning and evening prayer services and other group activities all within a joyous atmosphere of prayer and play.  Staff:  The camp is conducted by volunteers with backgrounds in camping, scouting, religious education and special education. One volunteer is assigned to every 1 to 3 campers depending on the camper’s needs. The camp is staffed full time by a registered nurse.  Cost:  A deposit is required with registration and the remainder is due before the weekend. This includes all meals, snacks and lodging.
