Facing an unplanned pregnancy can be an extremely scary and lonely experience. Beginning in 2003, the Heart of Mary Pregnancy Support Services program was established to offer women and men facing an unplanned pregnancy a supportive environment discuss their feelings and options in a supportive and safe environment. If you are in need, please contact the program to set arrange a free and confidential appointment. Remember, you are not alone!

The agency offers the following services:

• Providing free pregnancy testing
• Offering supportive and nonjudgmental decision counseling
• Facilitating community resource referrals
• Delivering family support counseling
• Administering the Parenting Resource and Education Program (PREP), an incentives based material assistance program for pregnant parents
• Sharing adoption information and referrals
• Providing assistance with maternity and baby items
• Conducting sessions regarding abstinence and STDs

 Eligibility:

All women and men facing an unplanned pregnancy or possible pregnancy, or the biological parent of a child under the age of 12 months are eligible for agency services. Any Pennsylvania resident is qualified to become a client of the program. All program components are confidential and provided free of charge, regardless of income.

The Heart of Mary Pregnancy Support Services is located at 26 East College Avenue in York, housed in the former convent building behind St. Mary’s Church.

From the South: Take I-83 North, exit onto South George Street. Follow South George Street into York and turn right onto College Avenue. Make the first right and you will be in The Heart of Mary Pregnancy Support Services parking lot. Use the back door entrance facing the parking lot and press the "Women in Need" button on the intercom.

From the North: Take I-83 South and exit at the North George Street Exit. Follow North George Street through the city (past the square) and turn left onto College Avenue. Make the first right and you will be in The Heart of Mary Pregnancy Support Services parking lot. Use the back door entrance facing the parking lot and press the "Women in Need" button on the intercom.

From Route 30: Turn onto North George Street toward the city. Follow North George Street through the city and turn left onto College Avenue. Make the first right and you will be in The Heart of Mary Pregnancy Support Services parking lot. Use the back door entrance facing the parking lot.

The program relies on community support in the form of donations and volunteers. We are extremely grateful for each and every donation.
