Bishop Senior Announces a Campaign Feasibility Study

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Thank you for your steadfast support of the Diocese of Harrisburg. Because of your prayers and generous sharing of your time, talent, and treasure, our Catholic community continues to thrive. Together, we can build a legacy that will shape the faith in our region for generations to come. Achieving this vision, however, requires thoughtful stewardship of our resources. After careful consultation with members of the clergy and Diocesan leadership, I have chosen to explore the possibility of launching a special Diocesan-wide campaign to address several pressing needs.

Our initial step will be a comprehensive campaign feasibility study, conducted over the next twelve weeks beginning this month. The Steier Group, a respected national Catholic fundraising and development firm based in Omaha, Nebraska, will lead this effort.

The purpose of the study is to assess our readiness and the level of support for a significant fundraising initiative. This process is essential to ensure that our decisions are collaborative, well-informed, and responsive to the needs and capacities of you, our parishioners, and our Diocesan and parish leadership. I stress that this study is the key part of our discernment process and that no decisions have been made to proceed with a fundraising campaign at this time.

In the coming months, all parishioners will be invited to participate in the study, either through personal interviews, mail, or online surveys. You will receive a preliminary fact sheet outlining the potential objectives of the campaign. I encourage you to review this document carefully and to note any questions or comments before your interview or survey.

Your input will help us gather the most accurate and comprehensive information possible, ensuring that, if we decide to move forward—the campaign truly reflects the hopes and values of our faith community.
