The hook-up culture is prevalent on our high school and college campuses, and students need the opportunity to discuss the issues surrounding it in a safe and open environment. Liz Small, founder of Small Steps and a campus ministry professional, will present the most current data and practical strategies on how those in ministry with youth and young adults can accompany them during this challenging time in their lives.
Born into an insanely big Irish Catholic family, I am the youngest of eight kids. I graduated from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a minor in faith justice. Even from my earliest weeks on Hawk Hill, I knew that we were all called to something greater and that we all needed a place to call home and people to love us the rest follows.
After serving for a year as a Jesuit Volunteer in San Diego, living with some incredibly awesome other young grads and trying to live in community, I came back to the East Coast to work in campus ministry. I received a master’s degree in pastoral ministry at Boston College and began work in professional campus ministry, which I have done for the last seven years.
