Walking with Teens & Young Adults on their Faith Journey

The Catholic Church will continue to grow through the leadership of our young people. Join us as we foster leadership skills, build confidence and ensure the future of the Faith through our many youth programs.

Many of our youth and young adult ministries are parish based. We provide a range of support and resources to help these programs take root, grow and thrive. We provide training, recruiting and networking opportunities for ministers, as well as parents and participants.

Working in true partnership, we empower our parishes and young adult leaders to network, share and provide support for their faith journeys. It is our goal to empower parishes and schools to take responsibility for ministry to, by, for and with Youth & Young Adults.

Come join us! The Diocese of Harrisburg is heading to World Youth Day 2023! Come celebrate with our Holy Father Pope Francis in Lisbon, Portugal. Experience a week of unity, fun, and a deep encounter with Jesus Christ. Along the way, we will also be stopping in Fatima to visit the apparition sites of Our Lady. See the “Retreats” section below for details.

Theology on Tap

Theology on Tap is a genuine and sincere effort to reach out and meet the young adults of this diocese and to listen and to respond to what matters to you as young adults in the Church.

There will be an opportunity for those in attendance to offer feedback and ideas for future gatherings. Come and explore how faith in Christ can speak to your circumstances as a young adult in the Church! The following links will provide you with information regarding the next scheduled events.

NET Ministries

In response to an urgent need to proclaim the Gospel to youth, 110 NET volunteers ages 18 to 28 are sent out in vans each year across the United States in teams of 10 to 14.

The 10 retreat teams share their faith during retreats with over 70,000 youth. For nine months, these teams become like family for each other as they work side by side sharing what God has done in their lives. Each team invites all they meet to give their lives to the only one who can satisfy their hungry hearts – Jesus Christ.

For the past several years the Diocese of Harrisburg has invited NET Ministries to provide retreats for youth in grades 7-12.

Each year, beginning in April, the Office for Youth & Young Adult Ministry accepts reservations for the coming school year. For information about hosting one of these retreats please contact our office.

Camp Bashore

The weekend includes great food, fellowship, games, campfire; youth and adult training cells; C.O.P.E. session available for ages 14-18, prayer time, Friday evening and Saturday evening Masses and interfaith service on Sunday morning.
